V6 - height / springs problem
I wanted to lower my calibra to -40mm, I did same thing (-40) with my old 8v calibra and it was perfect, but with v6 its only problems...
Firts I bought a set shocks and springs (supersport) in germany and front went too low- I had about 0,5 cm betwen tyre (195/45/16) and arch, i put back old springs ant it went back up I tought it was problem with spings that were not for v6 and that seller made a mistake and sent me springs for 2.0 calibras and now I got new set springs checked that they are for v6 and again it went too low - now I have about 1-1,5 cm to arch and it rubs when going over bumps - ofset is ok, car just goes down... back end is ok and was ok with first set also.
Can it be that shocks are also wrong? - I tought main thing for car height are springs and shocks dont have much influence...
Could please v6 owners that lowered their car tell me what shocks and spring they used and advice would changing shocks made any diference in my case?

A while ago I had the same problem with springs. Bought a set for the V6 and the car went too low. Thought the springs were wrong and in the end they weren't. Too much hassle to sort out problem so just stuck with originals and got bigger wheels 17". The v6 is lower than standard anyway as is the turbo

Well I have 3 springs sets now and not one has good height...
1st H&R (30/30)- too high (about 3-4 fingers above tyre)
2nd Supersport (50/45) - too low (0,5 cm above tyre)
3rd GT cupline (40/40)- almost ok but rubbing
3rd one is closer to -60mmm than -40 that it should be but I could live with that if only it wasn't so soft, over every bump it hits and rubs...
Its unbeliveable - or it stays too high or it drops all the way down, only not middle that I'm trying to achieve... going crazy here...
I have been looking on some german forums and some say that they got ok results with H&R springs (that I have) and short koni yellows (-50mm) so spring was forced to lower to height of shocks - they say when combined that car sits about 40-45 mm lower... but Im not very sure about that...
Also Koni are pretty expensive so I am thinking of returning H&R for now so I can drive normaly and instead of koni save a little more and get coilovers... it will cost more but atleast I will be sure that I will have height that I want...
Opinions - sugestions please?

just thought id ask this to make sure but you are buying springs for the V6 and not just standard calibra springs? V6 springs need to be stiffer as the car is heavier, if you use normal springs they will sit lower as they aren't meant for that weight.

Yes I did ask both times and it wrote in description that springs are for v6 and I did tought that they made mistake first time so I double checked when I way buying second set at diferent seller... dont belive both lied to me... and on other hand that is only logical explanation why car sits too low as v6 is about 150 kg heavier than 2.0 calibra...
In about half hour I am going back to garage and puting car back on H&R for now - it will be high but atleast I dont have to be scared that I'll dmage something every time I go for a drive...
Then I'll cool off my head for few days and try to decide what next...

Who make the coilovers and are the rears height adjustable?
