The overall plan

by fraggie » Mon Feb 04, 2008 7:30 pm

right guys well a quick update, no pics at the moment but i thought id let you all know my plans since the headgasket went on my white V6...

Ive managed to get hold of a V6 lump which should be pushing 200bhp ish, (Cams, FRP, Throttle body enlarged + inlet enlarged, full 3" decat stainless system, 3.2 alternator, vectra camcovers etc) and a turbo balanced flywheel. Ill be hooking that up to an F28 and ive got almost everything i need to do the conversion.

So thats the engine sorted, just all needs dropping in now.

Now the bodywork will be changing a little and i know a lot of you wont like this but never mind Tongue

The Team Dynamic DTM's ive got will be totally refurbed in white, a full wide arch kit and then the full DTM vinyls will be put on.

Ive managed to get an irmscher spoiler with a 3rd brake light so that will be going on soon and hopefully it will look almost identical to this...

(except for the rear spoiler will be smaller and the front splitter will be the reiger front splitter but apart from that im going for the same look)

Few months of work left :)

Is anyone good at photoshopping? basically want the above pictures with a smaller irmscher spoiler and the front splitter the same as the reiger kit :)

Im fairly sure its going to look good but obviously better to be sure :)

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Bill

//Edit

Its current state...

A lot of work but would look impressive when finished imo. Im not sure a reiger splitter would go with that kit due to the width of the arches so I would try and match it identical to the photo even the spoiler as that doesn't look over the top with a kit like that. Arches will need a lot of work though and don't expect to go over any speed ramps easily

Ill dig out some pics of a similar cally that was at PVS a few years back

So basically it will be the above white cally, with the blue callys kit on instead. Therefore the front splitter will be different but i still think it'll look the dogs danglies.

Ill keep this thread updated when i get pics :)

First job is to get the new engine in :)

Unless you already have the enlarged inlet system, [stuck record]I'd start with a 3.0 with at least 200bhp from the off.[/stuck record]

All those mods on a 3.0 'should' see around 220-230bhp and an increase in torque.

I'm also sure that I read somewhere the ideal diameter for a V6 zorst system is 2.75" with a sports or fast road cat. Any bigger and/or no cat causes a loss of back pressure and mid range torque.

Considering you're planning on making a DTM class replica, it'd be nice to give it the beans to match the looks.

already got the engine and exhaust matey :) with the enlarged inlet :) already upped etc. The decat is a seperate pipe so its possible to change it for a sports cat if there are problems.

Ive got what ive got so ive just gotto fit it :)

200bhp aint too bad :)
