New Member on the block . . .
Just to say Hello as i'm new, is there a difference between clubcalibra.com & .net ??
I always wanted a Caly when I was a lad in the 90s
When my old BMW's engine imploded at 165k I took the plunge & somehow i've ended up with two near identical magnetic
blue late R & S plate 16v Ecotecs, the later being an SE8
They have all the usual inherant problems which I've found some great guides on here for; such as sunroof failure, overheating,
tickover problems, engine light & sensors problems, front door card bubbling . . .
Plus they both seem to suffer from slow tyre deflation !?!?

.com forum is free
.net forum is also free.
Full club membership .net is 20 a year which gives you trade club at vauxhall and 20% at autovaux and many others.
No brainer really. Being able to attend the VBOA show is worth the 20 alone.

Re: New Member on the block . . .
Thanks for the warm welcome, can't believe there's only around 2,800 sorn & taxed Calys combined in the UK left !
The Plan is to take Britain back, sorry I mean to get my SE8 tiptop & then sell the other. I don't understand why my SE8 has a cheap looking cloth interior. I was hoping to keep the SE nice & original but I think I'll swap the interiors & whack the cream leather into the SE,
I believe the heated seats wires are installed & waiting in the SE ? The whole SE thing seems to be a clever vauxhall marketing scam, you'd think you'd get better stuff & a nice badge on the back, extra horsepower & maybe an SE # inside ground into a raised bit of the chasis in enamel red paint & a certificate from GM's CEO ! Ok maybe not but I guess I do like the spoiler, aircon & no awful sunroof.
I've searched high & low on here but can see no proper guides only passing moans about the front door card vinal cancer of lifting & bubbling. I don't know whether to cut & stick as will look awful, try to re-cover but the leather section is bonded on or inject foamy glue from behind !?? I tried looking for second hand door cards but they all had the same problems !
I also want to get the car to remotely deadlock, whack in my old 90s ICE & Waxoil it before loving & cherishing it forever !
Oh & I've found that website for GM parts but with no pics it was impossible to use. I'd love the GM software with the exploded pictures of everything !? Nothing on Ebay ? Is it available ?

An idea I heard from someone is to cut the existing vinyl & glue the edges back in place leaving an exposed slit, then stick something else over this. It should be a lot cheaper than getting the entire door card recovered & it what I intend to do...if I ever get around to it.

Waxoyl stays semi-liquid. Dinitrol is similar to apply but it hardens properly. I believe it is more expensive though.
