Shipment from Eddey
Re: Shipment from Eddey
I'm looking at ordering 2x sets of Bonnet struts thru an England member. So this wrapping as a Christmas present is a way of posting as a gift to save shipping costs?

It going to you so will depend on what your import duty is for good sent in ..or what ever form of purchase tax for that matter (if you have anything like that over there) when you get something from overseas
just checked and your fine over there....much better than the highwaymen that run our country anyway
post.Imported goods with a value at or below A$1000 that arrive by air or sea cargo will require a self-assessed clearance (SAC) declaration to be lodged with Customs and Border Protection.
There are no Customs and Border Protection charges for making a SAC declaration.
For more information about SAC declarations see the fact sheet Self-assessed Clearance (SAC) Declarations.
Goods with a value at or below A$1000 that arrive by post do not require a SAC declaration.

Eddey put the actual value of the goods, thinking that calling them a 'gift' would get them into the uk ok
without wrapping them up in christmas paper.
This did not work and, in addition to normal import duty and clearance charges, we have been hit with £73 of vat.
Fortunately I was ahead of the game, for a change, and they are being brought in by my vat registered company.
So that is now input vatEddey and I are now working out, based on how much each of us paid, the split of the
£24 that cannot not be lost in the system.
It's absurd that you had to pay any extra costs, considering the Postage was Paid...
That's not how it works over here, when having Parts sent over from the UK, but I'll pay the £24 fee...
As I've already told those what they need to pay, and not wanting to complicate things anymore...
Hopefully everyone will have their Parts Ordered, by the end of the week...

Don't be silly Eddey, I'll lose the cost in the business.
The 4 onward shipments are packed and ready to go.

Thanks John...
I've got no doubt that those who ordered parts, will be very happy with them.
Thanks for being kind enough and helping the other 4 people out, as well...

Re: Shipment from Eddey
I've got to say not many other car forums I'm on are this friendly and cohesive. The above hassles with postage you lads experienced and or you dealt with it was great. Calibra unites the world! <3
Re: Shipment from Eddey
All packed and onward shipped now.
Big thanks to Eddey for setting this up.
Its amazing the condition of these 17 year old parts. Just not used to a rust free environment.

It's good to see that them Parts are now with you, and no longer on my kitchen bench top...
Have you decided what colour, you intend on painting them?

Just make sure that you take a pic of your old parts, beside the new parts, prior to fitting them on...

Best Wishes!!!
