need help with cali

ive just baught a L reg calibra i have always loved the cars and when this one came up i had to buy it but since the handbrake cable has gone really loose and its between 11 and 13 clicks, does this mean i need a new one or if needs adjusting can someone please give me some advice on what to do :) many thanks

the calbra back brakes are prone to be s**t i would strip them down and replace the pads shoes springs and cable

you need to look under the car at the handbrake operating threaded bar, located behind the exhaust centre box heat shield to see if theres any adjustment left on it. I would still recommend checking the condition of the handbrake cable itself and brake shoes which means removing the rear brake discs.
Buy a haynes manual mate, worth there wait in gold for guiding you through the general maintenance of your car.

Welcome to cc.net. When you strip the shoes down take off the part that the handbrake cable fits to and check it moves freely. It's a 2 piece part that tends to rust together.
