How is everyone?
Hi all,
I've been trawling the site - so much change! What on EARTH is Steva doing to his car? Last thing I see is a nearly finished car a year ago and nothing...
Mark talking about his V6 going...
Yellow turbo conversions being broken...
Weird. I was thinking today whilst out and about how few Calibras there are now. On top of that, how important it is that people keep them and care for them - like any classic it's really a thankless job and someone has to do it! I, obviously, have been without a Calibra for years (I would assume it's still in the same place I last saw it, but it could be dead and gone) but recently bought a Corsa VXR to get about in (and the Monaro still rests in the garage doing very little) so I feel a bit more connected to the brand again. Again, how things change.
That little Corsa has as much grunt as my old Calibra Turbo had, from 1.6 litres! What a little rocket. Goes like hell and looks great. Ah, how I miss the early days..
I was most distressed that Billing fell on Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend this year - I couldn't do both and the call of supercars yelling up hills won out over static Vauxhalls I'm afraid - but I really did want to come. So maybe next year (can we keep it away from FoS?
)
Anyway, I hope the old crew are out there doing their thing - and if not, I hope there is still someone polishing their Calibra in this fine weather and enjoying the car as much as I once did.

Yup - I have a half marathon soon (and I run barefoot!) so I gotta keep the shoes off
