will a turbo engine come out the top with tx box attached?
As above guys... Cheers

Why would you want it still attached?
It can stay sat on the Gearbox and take the engine out.

why would you not just drop it out the bottom much quicker and not as much chance of damaging the paint work

Personally I drop the full engine with gearbox and txb out the bottom then separate them as Steve says its much less likely to cause any damage

Do you drop it attached to the sub frame. I have to do my clutch soon.

Fair point, just drop the whole lot out on subframe? I need to keep it rolling while engine's out so would have it all back together.
Re: will a turbo engine come out the top with tx box attache
i usually remove the subframe first then drop the lot onto a pallet or something, i find a pallet on the legs of the engine crane is good for landing it on if i am working down low.
I then use the same engine crane to lift the car up high enough to pull the engine out.
i have done the same on a ramp which was much easier i dropped the engine onto the subframe loosened the subframe bolts and used 4 axle stands to support subframe etc. lift the car up on the ramp and the engine is all sat there ready to be messed with.

I have a 2.5 tonne forklift, and a 5 tonne teleporter to hand
No need for a crane
