Few bits done today

by Robs-se » Sun Mar 25, 2012 12:45 am

Got some long overdue bits done on the Car today, first was to adjust the bonnet pin so i can now open it
myself without someone else bouncing the bonnet, second was to finally run a cable from my oil pressure
sensor through the bulk head to the oil gauge, which now works as it should without shooting straight off
the scale and third was to replace the stubby breather hose on the dipstick pipe with a blue roose one.

Which brings me to ask this question, on removing the old black hose which had gone soft and collapsed
in on itself, i found there was a lot of mayonaisy stuff in the breather pipe but not in the dipstick pipe.
There is no mayonaise in the sump or on the dipstick and non in the header tank which leads me to think
that this is only in the breather as because the hose has collapsed its not breathing correctly and causing
condensation which is mixing with the oil, or am i wrong and the head gaskets gone :?

Sorry for the long winded post, i tend to waffle when i've had a few whiskies
