If it was legal to tow my other Calibra then I would probably get another

Re: New Car Advice
Well I spent another weekend looking at cars. Ive kinda norrowed my list down to an M5 E60 or the E61 530D touring which suprisingly both were mentioned on TG tonight and the dilema I have.
Test Drove the M5 in Reading, 507bhp an awesome bit of kit

And this in Swindon and I was actually suprised by the 230bhp diesel engine

Both will tow the cally if need be (although I would get some abuse for towing with an M5), but I just cant make the decision between the relaible, economical and practicle diesel or the madness of the M5? Welcome any thoughts

Yea I think your completely right although on paper my cally has a better power to weight ratio so would give the M5 a good run for its money although the cally isnt an everyday car.
I have been quoted £2100 from BMW to fit a tow bar to an M5 and my local towbar company said they will only fit a tow bar supplied from BMW and they are unlikely to supply parts only apparently. They also recommended against towing with the M5 even though its rated enough to tow. With that in mind I think I may have to go with the Diesel

To throw it all up in the air, Why not the M5 and a cheap 4x4 for towing? I've got an Isuzu Trooper LWB diesel,Rated to 3500kg and legal for the cally, best bit was only £700! I only use it for the dogs and towing, otherwise just parked up

Yea ive considered that although I need an all round car that I can chuck my bike or surfboard on the roofrack, throw my camping gear in the boot and generally abuse on an everyday basis. I think if I was to get a seperate tow car then I wouldnt even be considering an M5, its only because its such a good all round car that it found itself on the list.
