The 'PPI advice line'

by MarkV6 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 5:14 pm

had a call from Melvin at the 'PPI advice line'.... Kept him on the phone for 23 mins, in which time I'd told him I'd changed my name to Algernon Reginald Smythe III, had a poem published in The Guardian, had paid off my £437K mortgage 8 years ago, was in a civil partnership with Rupert Cuthbert Portland Snr, and we were due to fly out tomorrow for a 4 week holiday in Thailand after I'd finished the nuclear rocket for Iran.....

#*%kers waste my time on a Saturday.... so I'll waste theirs.....

The callers from 'whoever' tech support about my PC sending virus emails get similar treatment too....

(And yes I am already on the TPS register)
I used to own this Calibra...
I now own this one.

An Indian called 'Eric' rang me yesterday too.

I alternate between being very polite but telling them their information is "years out of date" (hoping they'll scub my name from their list) or simply saying "oh hang on a sec there's someone at the door" then leave the phone until they hang up - it blocks their line for a while & entertains me for a minute too
