cambelt snapped!!

Hi People.

cambelt snapped on my car today when i was doing 40-50mph. (calibra 2.0 16v ecotec)

can anyone advise me if its worth fixing and how much roughly im looking at?

probably at least some bent valves, so head will need to come off and a new cambelt kit of course, gaskets etc plus labour, if you went to a garage you could be looking at £600 plus if not more, would be cheaper to get a second hand good head (I have one here by the way) and do the work yourself

how old is your calibra and how many miles does the engine have on it?

I got a head gasket set and valves off ebay for £80
and a mechanic i know did the job for £200 which i thought
was a good price

if your handy with the spanners etc less than two hundred quid should see it fixed that inc belt kit etc
