the Benefits debate

by Fraz » Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:50 pm

just been reading the BBC site and there is a bit on about the cap on Benefits

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16812185

Now there is Ray with his wife and 6 kids getting over 30k a year and they think it will be a burden getting a cap as it will mean they will have to cut back

Now maybe its just me but maybe if they cut back on the £240 a week shopping, lose the sky and curb the mobile phone bills and maybe stay in every other weekend and don't go down the pub for a few beers and buy the son a bus pass ( i would have thought he would get some sort of financial help himself anyway for going to collage????) ...they may just be able to cope

and do they not get help with school uniforms down in Wales then??

benieits are a f*****g joke the only people who benefit are the lazy c**t who dont pay anything into the system

the people that pay for benefits by working and contributing to society get shafted and benefit in no way shape or form

stop all benifits if you dont work you dont get simple

and the people who have paid into the system should only be entitled to claim the amount they have paid in

all the poles/Lithuanians/non british nationals etc etc should have no entitlement to benifits in this country if they dont work send them home

well said guys , the government need to stop benefits as so many are taking the p**s out of them , unless they are disabed or unable to work because of proper illnesses like one of my uncles who died a few years ago as he had to retire work at 40 because of hurting himself for the rest of his life by being hurt by massive cutting machines etc...

the definately need to stop luxurys like sky tv (whynot buy them a 25 quid freeview poormans digital box that would save goverment money .

If they all got jobs there would be no Jeremey Kyle show

Benefits being that high doesn't give anyone the insentive to look for work. ALL unemployed people should be assessed to see if they are fit to work. If they are then the benefit should be capped at say £25000 for a family. Then after the original assessment the benefit should be reduced if they are still not working 6 months down the line and continue to do so every 6 months. Disabled people that cant work should be exempt from this and the ones wanting to work but are limited to what they can do should have benefits like now to bring their incomes up.
This is my cleaned up version as once i get going on this subject i could type forever

Anyone on benefits should be given a short space of time to find a job, and afterwards they either give up benefits or start working for the good of society - eg street sweeping, labouring on national building projects, working full time in charity work, tending to parks/public spaces, cleaning war memorials... anything to keep them active and dissuade dossers from claiming.

Also shouldn't be allowed to have kids until they can show the kids won't be raised in poverty!

If there was some way to bar them from buying cigarettes, alcohol or sky subscriptions that would be good too.
