Have i got the right 'washer' on here?

Well ive been out in it this morning, i was in the boot, while my Dad drove the car and it's definitely coming from the shock area.

Im 90% sure its the top mount, although nothing moves.....but i suppose it could be coming from the lower mount and being transmitted up?

I even found two rubber washers in the garage this morning and fitted them under the top washer to eliminate metal to metal contact there, to see if that worked...but it made no difference.

It is getting to the stage now where i am actually getting bloody anoyed with it and its driving me insane.

Has anyone else ever had this issue and how did you solve it?? (apart from you eddey lol)

what make are the shocks you have on??? son had KYB and they did this but my bilsteins are fine

Mine are Bilsteins.

How is the shock mounted at the bottom?...is it just a bolt that mounts it through the lower rubber mount on the shock or is there some other bushes etc there?

it does locate into the bottom arm but apart from the actual bush in the shock nothing else

There is a lug on the bottom of the shock which should locate into the arm then a bolt goes in and holds together

I'm clutching at straws i know, but i cant think of what else to do!!

Does anyone know if Bilstein B4 (Black) rear shocks should use the same mounts as standard or do they come with their own?....I'm just wondering if this could be anything to do with it?

I really am tearing my hair out over this now!!!

yes its a direct replacment, I have B4 on mine and have fitted new standard top mount rubbers and the bottom part fits right into the apature on the bottom

Back to the drawing board time.....jesus this is doing my head in, you'd think a knocking would be simple to sort, this just seems like it hasnt got a cause !!
