Strip or sell??......Whats the interest?

Hi all.
I write this with GREAT regret but due to money issues, I am left with no choice. The time has come that I have to part with my beloved Calibra which I have now owned for 13 years+!!!! For anyone who doesnt know me or the car, it has been extensively modified and played a big part with the club in years gone by, attending many many shows in and out of the UK. If I could choose, there is no way on earth that I would even be considering this. Believe me, this decision has taken me over a year to make!

The question I need to ask is......Do I sell it complete (if so, how much), or do I strip it for spares (if so, what parts would sell) ??

Logically, I know that it will be worth more as parts due to the amount of mods and upgrades on it, a number of which are complete one-offs. HOWEVER, this is time consuming and only applies once ALL OF the parts are sold. Selling it complete would have it all gone in one

If people wish, I can write up a complete spec list on here to give an idea of just how parts would be available.

Phil are the mirror finish plates on the bonnet SS plates or vinyl?
If they are SS plates I'd be VEEERY interested in them (if you can get them off that is)

But if they are just vinyl what kind is it? Everything i've tried just blisters.

sorry to hear that you are selling mate, i agree it will be worth more in parts but it would brake ma heart to break mine and im sure you feel the same, good luck with what ever you do,

Incase I do decide to strip, as Steve has done, could you please write on here which items you would be interested in so have an idea of which items would sell quickly. If I go ahead with it, its still due to the need for cash so cant have the car sitting for ages waiting for the parts to shift.

The lambo doors are about the only difficult part to let sell as they are welded on. I could grind them off if you wanted them but that would be towards the very end of the cars life as it would mean not having doors on my car anymore. Before it gets to that stage, I need to sell the interior leather, sound system and electrics to keep it all in good condition away from the weather elements.

Incase you didnt know, if you're interested, I make all the stainless covers you can see in the engine bay. If you want a set, we can sort that out regardless of if the car gets stripped or not

cant belive u are selling phil, i was thinking of doing the same a while back, the only way u will make money isto strip i worked out if i striped it i could make about 7-8k but in the end i couldnt do it so ive spent more on her lol, might be interested in a few bits if u do

I cant stress enough how hugely reluctant I am to do this, but its a necessary decision and I'm hating it but have no choice.
Which parts were you thinking of?

Already had someone else after these as well but obviously nothing definate yet as no sales are being made right now.
Just so long as you are happy to wait until the interior and I.C.E has gone as I wont have a door on it to protect it from the weather after selling the door kit.
