Not a great deal we can do about it though Steve ...have move dthe server which was causing an issue, I think most people will only come on and reply to things rather than start a topic these days
so they go away when there is nothing form them to reply to and then say the site is dead

I think that it,s pretty much the same for most forums. Plus calibras are diminishing in numbers.

Good forums are as popular now as ever; however it is essential that the guys owning /running a forum type site have the time, inclination, technical and social skills to develop (evolve?) the site. If one or more of those key facets are missing, the forum withers.
Putting aside the evidence proffered by this sites atrocious front page with it's dead links, from reading a couple of recent 'How can we improve the site' type threads it is abundantly clear that currently some of those elements are missing.
