Well gutted, police released my car yesterday and so i went up to recover all i could (tax disc/few cds/cd player) My passenger seat is burnt/centre console slightly burnt/passenger door card slightly burnt/roof liner burnt.....So my fear is the insurance will probably write her off :(

I have been informed by the dc today that the 2 youths (14 and 16) have admitted it! And they had just literally drove her for 2 MINUTES!!!....so im not sure if they dropped their bottle. There is apparently a 3rd lad in his 20s associated too.

Mechnically and bodywise she is fine. Alot have said I should buy her back?!...any thoughts if it comes to that?....

I'd definitely but it back...It sounds easy enough to sort out, i'm sure you'd get bits cheap enough or donated from people that have them.

Although i dont know how you personally feel about having the car back and driving it around after it's been stolen etc?

Firstly, what an awful thing to happen. I can absolutely imagine how you must feel. Those three scum will probably get no more than a slapped wrist. Mind you, your fire brigade must be pretty damned good to have got there so quickly and saved your pride and joy. However you proceed, I hope it all works out for you.

Cheers Guys :)

Thats just it, Im not sure how id feel. Years ago similar happened a-n-d...i hated it, never felt the same. HOWEVER that wasnt a cally t!

TBH I was looking to sell her in the autumn. But I still LOVE her and would prefer for her to live!! Its one of them things tho. If I did buy back and sold her, Im not going to possibly get what id like, with her being a 'category c' or whatever its classed as! So....I know I shouldnt think of the moneys and that there's more to life! But...its already costing me a small fortune, private plate on retention, etc etc.

The Fire Station is like literally 2mins away from the scene!! Ha but still very good service!!

Im gunna sit back and see what the insurance come back with first and then probs be back for bit o'advice!

You could probably still get quite abit for it when you sell even if it is a Cat C or whatever....if you show that its all been sorted, then people still pay decent money for decent Calibra Turbo's.....considering most have either been stuffed into walls or had the hear and soul (Engine and box lol) ripped out of em and scrapped.

Bummer. Hope you get it sorted. Ask about the identities of those involved and plan your revenge. Perhaps use the car to run over one's head...

Think thats the plan now Steve, as heard today its a Cat B!! Still havnt had settlement amount...still in process of! But the woman i spoke to said today its 'usually' 10% of the value they offer you...so def less than that :D

Bit of a shame tho...owned for 6years in few days...and the fact the calibra turbo is a dying breed!!

Surprised they rated it Cat B, if it's only the superficial damage you described.

Cat B means it can be used for parts only, and can't ever go back on the road!
