Billing 2012

Hi Fraz and all club members

I have jut had the confirmation dates for Billing 2012, these are the 6th to the 8th July.

Don't forget this will be the Big 30th year event.

I am making a list of things clubs would like to happen over the weekend, please if you have any suggestions pass them on to me by the end of September so they can be disscused at the next VBOA meeting in early October 2011.

How about some inter club competitions. Tug of war or something along them lines

I was told that many years ago you did a stand of FD Victors to look like a car lot all marked up with original prices etc.
Perhaps a completely standard car/s from each club (from old to new etc) create something similar each marked up with their original prices and sale info etc?

Try and get some famous cars there... Baby bertha / Ex touring cars driven around the arena etc.
A DTM Calibra would be nice.
Could VX bring along any prototypes along?

I've just contacted Andy frost of Redvictor fame as we spoke on saturday at Billing about next year, and he did suggest driving the car around the site, with the odd blip on the throttle if allowed.

What about asking the Heratige centre to bring some of there cars along to billing ie the earliest vauxhall to the latest,or even a model from each decade of vauxhall?
or has that been done before

Some of the Heritage vehicles have been used for displays, but Ian Coomber did a big display only a few years ago of every year and the respective car for that period

I think inter club sports events would be great for the saturday evening, tug of war, 5 a side, volley ball, rounders etc finished off with a huge bbq/pig roast for all, tbh we don't really get the chance to interact much with the other clubs over the weekend usually
I agree with the above suggestions, some special cars in the central arena would be great, any chance of getting some support from the F1 teams that are closeby, such as Brawn, Red Bull?
