MOT FAIL
Hello again,
I got my first calibra about a month ago and yes ... had problems since, i took her to get looked at and was told there was no way it got through an MOT (it was MOT'd 2 days before i got it) i have a list as long as my arm of fails, the car is a death trap.
If i was to re-MOT the car to get an official list of fails and took that to the MOT center that passed it and demanded cash to repair the car or i inform VOSA of there dodgey deals. how do you think that would go... has anyone had the same kind of issues?

Re: MOT FAIL
If you report them then VOSA will come and collect the car and take it back to the station for the tester to go over the car with them, they will then want an explanation as to why these faults showed up. They will then issue the fail sheet and YOU will then have to rectify any faults before VOSA will issue you a MOT

rite ... thats not the best outcome then... would the mot center that issued the MOT get anything against them ... or just a slap on the wrist?

Re: MOT FAIL

Re: MOT FAIL
whats the millage on the tests sheet and whats the millage now?
I bought a van some years ago and the mot had 3k less than the van had, and the dealer said he moted it before he put it on his lot,
i never noticed it till money had changed hands
its a way of them getting out of it as they can say (with most things) it was ok 3k miles ago
I hope your a big guy If your going to go back to the mot station if they are the type of place that does dodgy MOTs they arent going to say sorry sir heres a refund and a cream cake

Re: MOT FAIL
an mot has three months before there is no comeback on it so if you are going to do anything i would do it now
if you bought the car from a private seller basically i would take it on the chin or take him to the small claims court,or if it was from a trader get in touch with trading standards as they have ways of helping out

This is off the VOSA website,
Check this website out,
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... DG_4022113
it does not mention revoking you current MOT, so you may have nothing to lose.
================================================================
What to do if you think your car has passed incorrectly
These cases usually relate to recently bought vehicles and you should let VOSA know as soon as possible.
Subject to acceptance of the complaint, VOSA will offer an appointment within five working days to recheck your vehicle without charge, provided:
* no more than three months has passed since the MOT test for a corrosion related problem
* no more than 28 days has passed with other defects
The address of your local VOSA office is displayed in the MOT test station or can be obtained from VOSA on 0300 123 9000.
VOSA provide this service as a means of monitoring the MOT Scheme and road safety standards. VOSA can’t seek redress or compensation on your behalf – although it’s open to you to take action in conjunction with your local Trading Standards department, take out proceedings personally, or refer the matter to the Police.
VOSA will supply you with the inspection report listing any vehicle defects and advisory items following the check of the vehicle. Any subsequent action that VOSA may decide to take against the testing station that tested your vehicle will be at VOSA’s discretion and should have no bearing on any action you may decide to take.
