Redundant brake pad wear sensors
Upgraded the front 256mm brakes on my Calibra to Vectra GSi 288mm kit today, however there is nowhere for the brake pad wear sensors to go in the new pads, so i tucked them up out of the way for the time being, and to my surprise the light on the dash isnt actually on, i thought it would be.
Does anyone have any advice as to what i can do to these permanently?..I've heard something about cutting the sensor off and joining the wires together, anyonen any the wiser?
Thanks in advance

Re: Redundant brake pad wear sensors
thats exactly what to do with the wires
BETTER TO HAVE A CALIBRA AND NOT NEED ONE, THAN NEED A CALIBRA AND NOT HAVE ONE!!!

Yes they were fitted as standard, as i've had the light on in the past when the pads were down and also when one went faulty....I expected the light to be glowing away but alas not.
OK so I'll join the wires together....Is it ok to cut the sensor off and join them there?, i dont really want to cut the plug off.
Re: Redundant brake pad wear sensors
Cut the sensor off, connect the two wires and cable tie out of the way, job done.

I never knew that. Will be one less light on my Dashboard

More power than God
Re: Redundant brake pad wear sensors
my sensors are just tied to the strut and not been cut. Never had the light on the dash come on and therefore never bothered with them. I have 4 pots so no where to attach to
Nothing succeeds like a budgie with nae teeth
