Recommended battery replacement?
Looks like my battery is on it's way out? I say that because the car has been off the road for a couple of weeks getting things done. I've noticed that when I put the key in and not fire the car
up the voltage sits at just under 10v. When I start the car the volt meter hits zero and the alternator does it's thing and the car starts. The running voltage is around 14v+ so the altarnator is fine. When I initially start the car the lights on the dash go dim until the car starts and they return to their full brightness. I've seen a 60amp 550cca battery for around £40 delivered and is suitable for the V6. Would this be a suitable replacement?

thought a V6 needed an 85 AH one
Re: Recommended battery replacement?
Would a Bosch silver 72ah 680cca be overdoing it or would that be ok?

Sorry Fraz, should of said that the alternator needs to be higher output than the battery but not the other way round.

Also got a 120amp alternator so should be ok with at least 72ah.

Is it just me or are the responses to threads in general getting worse? Over three weeks now and no one has come back since the question was first posted?

Cheers guys, Looks like the battery replacement will have to be put on hold as there are more worrying things that have happened to the car since. I've started another thread!
