POSSESSED SE9 !!

Right - heres one for you :)

I picked up my 2.5 V6 SE9 and was told that it has an electrical fault and would only drive half a mile up the road. After connecting the recently charged up battery the little v6 drove all the way to the a1 then became possessed  which was about 20 miles (awww bless it )

The ECU came on first, then the ABS light, then the little 's' (I think its sport mode- not sure not driven the auto before) came on. After about half a mile the lights went dim and the central locking went nuts! It then died on the slip road. For those that know me - i am jinxed by THAT slip road.

So - suggestions so far is a dodgy earth or battery. The alternator has already been done - so thoughts please before i get a lecky on it :)

Hearing the alternators already done im still suspicious, it sounds just light high voltage..
have you got a multimeter?? you need to test the voltage over the battery with it running idle and with it revving higher, make sure it stays "sensible" ie 14.5v or there abouts at most.

my guess would be the alternator isnt charging! when the battery voltage becomes low, the ecus start to shut down!

It definately sounds like alternator high or maybe low voltage, doesnt mean the alternator itself is at fault, and doesnt mean the "replacement" is okay.. get that multimeter out and see how it goes :) sooner than later really if it is high voltage it could hurt things
