Dead SE2

Any electrical issues

Dead SE2

by Robs-se » Fri Jan 02, 2009 10:38 pm

Car running fine 2 days ago but when tried to start today the battery was flat ie all dash warning lights dimmed and just a clicking from the ignition. Charged battery up and now when i try to start the engine all the dash warning lights flash on and off very quickly to the sound of machine gun fire.
Any ideas what this could be, being colour blind i try to stay away from electrics if possible.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies peeps, sorry for getting back late but on the night shift. Terminals are right way round, and according to the charger battery was fully charged. I will try the battery out the wifes Astra and see what happens. If no joy then will look at the starter.
Thanks for the offer Vinny, if i need i shall shout rather loudly :(

Ok, looks like a shaaaagggedd battery. Now i've managed to get at it in daylight i swapped the battery for the one in the Astra and it fired first time and the Cally one i put in the Astra and it was dead. I've now put it back on charge and the charger is showing battery as full as soon as i switched the charger on.

Looks like its a job for Daddy to get a new one cheap from Vauxhall
