Ignition amplifier - possible prob?

Cheers Phil. Would it be possible to borrow them as such. At least that way I can see if it's one or the other or both? Obviously postage etc will be covered by me. Car is off the road until at least thursday as new clutch cable being delivered so would be an ideal opportunity to see if the coil etc makes a difference?

Do you at least have the part number of the ignition amp so that I can source one myself?

Ok, had a look in the area of the battery and just can't see what is supposed to be the amplifier. Can someone please provide some direct guidance, description of the amp and if possible a photo of the amp either in situ or out so i can at least see what I'm looking for?

Ive been told that you can locate it underneath the battery tray.

Cheers for that Fraz. Went out hunting after I posted my last post and whipped this out as it was the only thing that I could see?? Lo and behold it matches. Now to get hold of another one to see if it's the problem causer?

Well phoned round all my local motorfactors and not one of them has this part number listed? Now where do I go?

Try your local scrappie to see if there are any V6's in or try ebay

Been on the phone to local scrappie and they only have vectra v6 so hopefully they'll be the same. Also emailed a couple of sellers on ebay and two got back, one that will sell ecu, coil and amp to me and the other, the one you linked to, has the coil pack and will try and locate the amp. Off to the scrappie in mo so will see what happens?

Just checked EPC and it appears that the Vectra doesn't have the amplifier,as it's the X25XE and possible different management system, still worth a trip as the Cav v6 will be the same

you might just have to get an aftermarket one (non Bosch) intermotor should do one ..or try a local Auto electrician, they should source one

oh and its also used on

Alfa 164 3.0 V6...
