Cally wheel offset
Well I'm on the lookout for some nice 17's for my Cally, the problem I'm having is trying to find a set that has an offset of ET49( the recommended offset). My question is what is the max difference I can go without the wheels sticking out too far, I've seen on one wheel website that the Cally can take ET35-ET45 offset.
My car isn't lowered yet but will be in the future by 30-40mm and I know I've got to have 5x110 PCD.
Views on the offset please.
Thanks in advance

Wheel offset
Cornishtaz - I wouldn't trust that website you quoted. Seems like they only want to sell you tyres based on how they look on the car, rather than how your car is going to handle. Try this for offset: -

Personally I wouldn't want to move away from the manufacturers stated offset. Reason? I had a lightweight import Scooby with about 315 BHP which had a lovely set of gold Kahn 17's on it when I bought it. Must admit, it made the car look the nuts. But they used to scrape on the inner plastic arch with 4 up and going round corners. So I decided to get a set of 18's which were the correct offset. The difference was astonishing/unbelieveable/staggering (It's difficult to describe in words). With the old wheels on it was like riding a mad nutter stallion when driving at speed - you were never sure of which direction the car was going to head off next - ditch, field, another car. With the replacement wheels it was like taming the stallion. Total confidence. The car stuck to the road like sh1t to a blanket. The person who designed your
To calculate the tyres you could try either of these two sites (they should both give the same results). You need to know your standard tyre as your car left the factory. For example, my Cally Turbo came with 205/50x16 as standard. The best 17" to put on it is the 205/45x17. Otherwise you can get speedo or gearing issues. I've seen 205/40x17 tyres on a Cally. IMHO they look daft. Big car, tiny wheels.
Most alloys use plastic spigot rings to bridge the gap between hub and wheel bore. Don't run without spigot rings. I know from experience of taking the wheels back to be re-balanced several times but still had the wheel vibration. I wasn't using spigot rings initially. Well I didn't know, did I!!

With the second site you just type
205/50x16
215/40x16
214/45x16
and so on.
