Calibra Turbo Rear Brakes

by bodgetastic » Tue Apr 01, 2008 2:24 pm

The rear discs came off the turbo this weekend not in the best of conditions and the shoes came out in sereval pieces.

I thought while I was replacing things I just aswell do the whole lot but vauxhall are showing certain parts no longer listed. Anyone ever looked into a rear brake upgrade??

One other question, my LE has black calipers whereas my mates turbo of the same year has red?????

the calipers arnt painted as std. so both have been painted hence different colours. they are usually just anodised, but rust up within no time due to the heat.

Which parts are you having trouble getting? I assume youv'e tried autovaux? they can often supply parts beyond vauxhall as they hunt down the makers a lot of the time etc.

Autovaux have quoted for all the parts although the calipers may take a while to deliver so I may keep the existing ones and just change the pads. Its the shoes that vauxhall no longer list but everything else is available.

Are there any uprated brake kits available. I appreciate these aren't as important as the fronts but if im having to replace everything anyway may as well fork out for something a little better?
