Calibra v6 calipers and discs - what to chose?
Hi,
brake disc are ready for change and I'm thinking betwen these options
1. leave original calipers and buy some grooved discs (284mm discs)
2. get turbo calipers and discs (286mm discs and little bigger pads)
3. lucas calipers for omega and omega discs (296mm discs and bigger pads)
As I know options 2 and 3 should be a simple swap altho I'm not sure for option 3 do I need to do any other changes?
all 3 options will cost me about same money
Your toughts and advices are welcomed - help me decide what to choose.

I've not heard of anyone using the Omega setup, but the Vectra GSI 3.0 setup is a good upgrade.
You can use the Veccy 308 discs with your existing 288 calipers with brackets from LMF

Get some decent pads in there and you'll have a good setup.

1993 SAAB powered Calibra turbo. TD04-19t. Stage 4. 300bhp.
Thing is those brackest cost more than calipers and discs from omega and when I pay shipping and customs and taxes here it will cost me more than double, and then I would have to buy discs...
And these 3 options are easy to get for me, I'm leaning towards omega option as I guess it would be noticable change as calipers and discs are bigger, turbo an v6 setup is almost the same only pad surface is a little biger with turbo.
Only thing is I'm not sure is it straight swap with omega setup...
One more question for ppl that did bigger brake upgreda - what did you do with rear discs and brakes - leave them same or also bigger?

I have the standard size on the back but when I had to replace them I fitted grooved discs. I don't know of anybody doing bigger ones for the back.

I know that but I can get turbo calipers in excellent condition and new discs for about 100quid and one caliper on v6 is acting funny so I would have to pay to repair it and buy new discs - and it is much easier to find turbo discs (288) than v6 discs (284)... dont know...
what do you think it would be smart to do in situation like this?

Oh Dear Hi spec god only hope`s no one on here has gone down that root
if you have good luck if you where just about to
Google HI SPEC and see what you get.
Almost went down this root to the expense of £1200 for one of there kits until a did a little research.
If you do go for a alloy caliper setup look at
Wilwood
Brembo
AP Racing
other than that a full 288mm or 308mm kit from Lmf would be the way forward
