and voltage is steady all the time

Code 117 - airbag smacked me in the head
Code 46 - Headlights control the stereo

The paperclip test reads the fault codes stored by the ECU, i doubt you'll have any as it's obviously an electrical short circuit, not a faulty sensor.

I know it's not funny but I've just had to drag myself up off the floor after falling off me chair when I read that.

Seriously though, does the ECU know that kind of stuff?

Must be a very bad short somewhere to make the airbag go off, the whole wiring loom for the airbag is pretty well isolated from the rest.

I'd check behind the dash, the airbag wires and stero wires run very close behind the centre console. Maybe something sinister has happen in that location...

Must of been pretty scarey. God only knows what would of happend if you'd have been picking your nose at the time.:eek:

Ive never had an airbag go off, i heard you can get burned by the explosion though, any gen?

well i wouldnt be at all surprised ,they cant fit stereos so anythings possible

im still laughing @ey with the code 117 -got smacked in the head lol
