G'day all.

Perhaps this could do the job you are asking?
<a href="http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5377&CATID=&keywords=kc5377&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=" target="_blank">http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...eMax=&SUBCATID=</a>

Or this one...
<a href="http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5378&CATID=&keywords=kc5378&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID" target="_blank">http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...ceMax=&SUBCATID</a>=

Both of these projects come from the book Performance electronics for cars,
<a href="http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=BS5080&CATID=&keywords=bs5080&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID" target="_blank">http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...ceMax=&SUBCATID</a>=

You don't need the book to build the kits, but the book has heaps of other car electronics stuff in it also.

Jaycar ships to the UK, and has an 0800 number for you to call too. (I don't work there, I just shop there!)

Hope that helps you.

Cheers for the link, looks like a good site to bookmark!
I've had so many problems with the car that i've not really looked into this anymore.
once the car is working ok i've thought of a way to test the theory manually, so will see if it works before going in too deep.
