max oil pressure reading!

ello guy n gals, my oil pressure gauge all ways shows max reading, could it be the sender unit or wld jus gettin another gauge do it?? the gauge returns to 0 wen the engine turned off?? thanx

Yep probably wire has fallen out

ello pps i took of that blue plug as u said and that made no differnce the gauge was still rite round the scale, and returned to 0 wen turned the engine off, now i'm scratchin me head!!

there are two wires that go into it that blue one and a white one (i think) that goes in just to the side of it, if thats missing then its probably that, if it isn't then the sender is probably fooked,

clean it all up as well as open circuit = max pressure

from those pictures it shows 3 wires, two on one connector which is for the oil pressure switch and a single one which is the sender connection, it's that one you need to look for

That's funny as mine has just started doing that. The oil pressure gauge is all the way to maximum and stays there. The engine doesn't even have to be running, I can just have the ignition on and it will do the same so it's definitely an electrical issue!

Mind you I've got some other (and possibly related) gremlins in that my oil level light is permanently on even though the dipsticks showing the level to be okay, and my temperature sensor is reading 80 degrees celcius!

Might all be related somehow if the wires run near each other or together.
