redtop heads

ive got a 93' cally redtop engine thats been polished and ported and it has the dizzy cap. But the calibra i want has the distributorless ignition pack. if i wanted to put my polished and ported head on it would i only need to change the heads and ecu or is it more complicated than that?.

I think the heads are the same? and the diz pack is a replacement for the distributer. though i'm not certain though as i've never had either, it should just be a case of swapping the head.. keeping the diz pack and current ecu. Probably not worth the hasstle of the swap just for the headwork though if its just ported a bit you're not going to see any vast improvement.

The heads are almost identical, except for a few little castings where the dis pack mounts onto it. If you want to swap the heads over, you'll have to keep with the dis pack system unless you want to rip out your ecu and loom, as they're different. Should you go ahead and swap the heads over and stick with the dis pack system, you'll have to use the original cams that relate to the vehicle in question, as the fittings on the end of the cams are slightly different, if i think back in time to when i rebuilt my head. Hope this helps!
