hehe more probs with my cally dash lights????

by blue redtop » Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:46 pm

ive got two orange dash lights up on my car one looks like like a light bulb with lines comeing from it and one is a circle with 2 lines on the edge(looks like a break disc and pads).
wondering if anyone knows what they are and how to fix them.
the guy i brought the car from said one of them is on because he fitted a de cat and its messing about with the lamba sencer. and it has got new brake discs and pads all round,

if anyone knows how to test thes things out i would be very happy if you would let me know.

thanks in advance.
jay
the rest of the car is in mint condition, just these problems to fix and it would be perfect.

circle with 2 lines is brakelight bulb ... on startup it goes out after you put foot on brake pedal unless you have a bulb out, the bulb one will be just that, a head or taillight bulb out.

I thin the one with the 2 brackets on either side is the brake pad wear sensor. Maybe they have replaced the pads but broke the sensor and didn't replace it?!!!

I think there is only 2 sensors in the whole car, one on one of the front wheels, and one on one of the rear wheels if I am not mistaken. But it has been a while since I worked on a calibra with sensors on them

Have a look around all 4 wheels and see if there is a sensor on them. Maybe just its missing?!!!

to put the light out, I know you can just short out the contacts on the connector to ground and it will put the light out.

I have the wear indicator on too!! As far as i know its because the cable going to it on the drivers side has snapped, is there a way to fix this or silly question, How do i short it out to make the light go off?

i think you cut the end off and join the two wires together then fix them to a bolt or screw conected to the cars body and that will earth it out and turn the light off.
but as chief said there dead cheap to buy any way.

Just join the wires together and tape/tie it up out of the way
