by calibra_v6_dtm » Tue Nov 14, 2006 12:25 am

Hi guys,

strange one this...

noticed recently when parking the speedo needle jerks like to 10 or 15mph when turning the steering sometimes.

any ideas what could cause it?

Mine does this too strangely...also a V6 on a m plate. Someone told me it was a characteristic of some of them and not to worry about. But then wouldnt be the first bit of bad advise vauxhall have given me!

if its mechanical mate just check the cable running from the back of the speedo - it comes out behind the dash in the engine bay, it might be leaning on something when you turn, just make sure its secure!

Strange thing, I got the erratic speedo thing as well, '97 plate though. Looked at V6 calibra and it states on there that this is one of the first signs of an ABS sensor on it's way out or at least developing a fault. Lo and behold not much longer after the initial speedo jumping did the ABS sensor fail. Just waiting for a replacement from autovaux to arrive
