Wiring Oil Gauge to Cig Lighter!

I have got a set of gauges for the oil and battery for my 8v.

Now I have heard that you can just wire them into the cig lighter (apart from the oil pressure of course).

I know it has probably been covered million times but I get lost searching for it.

Can anyone please provide me with a quick wiring diagram, or explain which wires from the gauges connect to which wires on the lighter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah cheers, have had a look through that thread but the lights dont seem to dim with the main lights and they ionly seem to come on with the ignition and not with the headlights.

I could really use a quick explaination of which of the 4 wires from the gauges goes to which colour wire from the cig lighter?

if you want the lights to auto dim etc and come on with light you will need to wire it the the lights that do.

the wire to ground is usually brown, the switched ignition is usually black.

take light feed from your clock and that will dim
