Heater matrix

by sweetboy » Sun Aug 13, 2006 8:56 pm

Ok, I have ased about this before, little while ago my heating is still not working and just realised todfay that it should be higher on my priority list!

Ok, basically my heating stopped working out the blue, made a sound like something was stuck inside, I got trees where I live might be leaves!

Anyway when I asked for advice on here, I was told it might be the heating switch, or heater matrix, I got a sweitch from the scrappy which dint make no difference so Im assuming its the heater matrix. Is this correct? Just want to double check as I might get one this week from scrappy as I need my heating asap!

If I need a heater matrix, isit hard to fit and how much could I loook at paying for one?

Ive got mot tomarrow and after that I need every thing else sorted this week, so if you can help, please do.

Thanks, sweetboy

Fixing one in can be a bit of a pain. Might want to make sure there are no air locks in your system first. Does the fan work ??

I wouldnt get a 2nd hand matrix, a lot of effort just to put in a second hand one that may also not work or pack up soon just to save a few £'s

does sound astho its the fan tho not the matrix, does it not even blow cold?

I'd remove the motor and check it spins freely, also check you get voltage at the resistor at the input to the motor.

No it doesnt blow cold air I cant hear nothing when I turn it on, I lifted the black shutter upand checked the fan doesnt turn, my cars gona be on the road soon so I wil need it sorted soon!

Is there no point getting a second hand fan then? Are they hard to fit?

Strip the unit out and apply a 12v supply accross it . If it still does not work you have your culprit if it does work you will nee to dig deeper. Its not the heater matrix by the sound of things.
