something has snapped
something has snapped
right, reversed out of work on full lock, and something has deffo snapped, heard a metalic crack, so had a quick look and couldn't see anything so i drove it home and there is deffo something rattling about on the front passenger side and it happens going over bumps etc, anyone got any idea what it could be and what to check to see what it is, probably the cv joint i reckon as it has been knocking slightly on full lock on reverse for the past couple of months and today something has snapped
so what could it be, anti roll bar, cv joint wishbone etc
any help appreciated

mine started rattling/grinding over bumps yesterday too.. on the right side.. climbing onto speedbumps and falling off them usually causes the sound. it is somewhat similar to tire scrub onto wheel arch at low speeds.
i've replaced the right anti-roll bar link 4 months ago. if it's broken again i'll defo be looking at uprating them somehow because this is ridiculous, i can't go replacing them every 6 months. im afraid to think what will happen if i decide to install a stiffer anti-roll bar - they'd be snapping every 5 mins.
i dont remember that i had this problem on my old turbo and i use to drive it like a nutter.
are there any differences between models regarding the issue? i presume some have stiffer antiroll bars and i know there's some difference in thickness of something(22mm/24mm) - guessing it's the thickness of the anti-roll bar?

Yeah think it is then, it only does it over bumps and it sounds like something is flapping about i'll have a check on it today, seems it is pointing to that, sounds like its attached one side then flapping about on the other side going over bumps, are they cheap to replace then and whats it called the anti roll bar drop link

yip thats what they r called will cost you between £5-9 depending where u get them and which one you need but there are 2 sizes as you have a v6 it will be the larger one 22mm IIRC
have a look first though and mak sure what type you need

they are fairly easy to change. im almost certain if you look at the wishbone how to, it explains how to change it. its in haynes anyway. u should be able to see it if u look through your wheels so u can check if its that that has actually snapped. does sound like it. it sits on top of the wishbone near the outer edge.

cheers, will do the one side and see how i get on first, then i may do the other side, cheers johnny and all will let u know how i get on, i think i could stretch to another £6 -£8 for the other side too but will see how hard it is to replace first but doesn't seem to be much of a job so will give it a go over the weekend

just remembered doing mine now and swearing alot while hacksawing through it with a blunt hacksaw and the coont of job to get it back on properly. have a tub of butter or grease to hand also as it'll make fitting the new one a lot easier. here's a full how to.
