Windows not working

Any electrical issues

Windows not working

by Green Machine » Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:48 pm

I have just installed a trip computer into my 16v Eco.

To do this i removed the centre console to cut the coin holder out to make way for the switch, i have now connected it all back up, followed the reprograming instructions in the Haynes manual for the windows, but they r dead. The light is on but the windows don't move.

Anyone else suffered witht he same problem?

Any suggestions?

you might have disturbed the multiblock connectors causing a bad or non-connection. Recheck all the connections under there before putting the trim back on. Make sure the clip is fully across and everything is tight and as it should be.
Dunno if anyone else has any ideas but would it hurt to disconnect the battery, reconnect it and hold down the buttons when turning the key to position 2?

I have checked and checked again all the connections, i will try disconnecting the battery in the morning.

Cheers for the idea.

In the mean time......Any others?.....

There are two options here:

You have disturbed the wiring for the switches.

Or both your window motors have failed simultaneously, whilst not in operation.

Which is more likely?

I'd go back and triple check the wiring to the switches, the distribution block etc...

Might sound a bit daft but have you checked all the fuses as well.
