Fault code

by Sean C » Sun Nov 20, 2005 4:27 pm

I have had my fault light coming on then going off over the past couple of weeks and i have finally been able to read the code from it. It always went off just as i got home so was unable to read it. The code number is 94 witch says Hall effect switch high voltage does anyone know what could be causing the problem :ponder2: :ponder2:

Sounds like a camshaft sensor needs replacing.

voltage high coule mean a break in the wiring also.. its the smallish connector that goes to the distributer as richard says for the "crank" sensor.. worth checking its still connectored properly etc as a first step.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Sounds like a camshaft sensor needs replacing.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->NO NO NO...!!!!!!!! Why is it that people always jump straight to the sensor..? It's the most expensive fix and is 9 times out of 10 unnecessary. First check and clean all the connections, then maybe consider a sensor.

I usually find if water has got to a connector it has a white film over it. Rub that off and good as new usually!

I had that problem with my oil pressure sensor. Got really scared until I got back there and cleaned it. (in my case it wasn't water tho, it was oil leaking from my valve cover. )
