if i put the original tyres onto my alloys (205/60/15) will they be better grip than my 195/50/15s as all of the tyres arent the same .I was thinking of changing the original ones from the gsi alloy type will they be okay?

For starters you will be fitting the wrong size tyre if you fit the 205/60r15's. The correct tyre for the 15" wheels (both on the Calibra and GSI Cav) is 205/55r15. If you are running 195/50r15's at present then thats the wrong size also as if you are running a 195 cross section you shoulod be on 60 profile tyres and not 50 i.e. should be 195/60r15's.

Anyhow, a 205 cross section wheel will give better grip due to the increased contact patch with the road. The lower profile will also help with stability aswell.
