Lowering an 8v

Looking for the best way to lower an 8v for around £250 new. Any advice is very much appreciated. I see names like Koni a lot but being the pleb I am I am in need of telling what to buy and where to buy it.

GMAX shocks & springs. think it was about £210 with next day delivery.

Yeah I'd get shocks and springs, which if you go the GMAX route is easily do-able on your budget. Some people prefer other makes (spax, koni etc.) but Gmax are much cheaper then most, and I can't say a bad word about them.

Try Roadrunner (look on google for their website) for mail order Gmax kits! £219 iirc!

Much firmer as you'd expect but not too harsh. It's obviously an improvement on the stock setup but I do believe there are better kits out there. It's only my opinion but I rate Spax and Avo as better (although more expensive).

Dunno m8. I've seen some springs for sale on ebay and I'm wondering how safe it is to buy used springs as opposed to new ones. Any idea?

No probs with buying used springs, accept the fact you cannot always be sure on wear and tear. I would always buy new given the choice. GMAX do some VERY reasonablly priced kits. Often less than 200 pound for springs and shocks, and I stand by them all the way.
