angel eye transformer question...

by BazV6er » Fri Nov 16, 2007 11:03 pm

i recenly aquired 2 sets of angel eye neon rings to convert into my lights , but they never came with any transformer blocks only bare wires.
Ive looked on fatladz old website

http://www.aqth92.dsl.pipex.com/calibra ... _guide.htm

and it doesnt say how you connect them to normal lighting systems...can anyone help and give me a bit of advice how to link them

Well they are LED angel rings and don't need transformers like the neon one's do.

Just connect to the side lights, One live and one earth :)

Connect one wire to the live and one wire to the earth, if they don't work just swap the wires around.
I connected mine to the side lights and took the sidelight bulb out, you can leave the bulb in if you want to.

They were ripped out of the "sonar" angel eye headlights that are sold on ebay.

The neon angel eyes are better -

ok ive just found a guide for fitting the rings on a ford mondeo here :http://www.fordmondeo.org/wiki/index.php/Angel_Eyes_-_Mk2

, so im sure this will help especially as i can use a connection block for the led angel rings to connect up and because i already have a set of calibra lights i can use these to experiment with.

okay so they are for the electrical switch inside the car used for raising and lowering the positions is that correct.
ive just had a look under the bonnet but mine look different as it looks like they have a grey plastic screw on the end of the adjuster, is this normal for all models of calibra or are they all different.

nah , they just look different from the back....

i know my electrics work inside the car okay so i would say they are still electric.

as for the brightness i know your right dave clear lenses would look better but its a little bit of extra light source and fatlaz started off with the standard cally lights as at the bottom of this link:
