The acumulators are made at ATE, in Portugal and Spain we buy from them, dont have the white stripe because only the ones to gm have it. For example, they're also used by bmw in some brake sistems.

I have the cav16 sports uprated box fitted to mine which came with a new acc bulb when supplied!
Dont know much about the locked boxes but ive always heard they dont switch to 2wd when braking and cos of this it causes the back to step out when braking into corners and makes the handling a bit rough!
Again! i dont know about this bein true but ive read it a fair few times..
I would guess there must be a good reason for the original style box having the acc set up switching the 4wd drive off when braking for them to make it that way

Mike Hayward sells a locking ring set plus instruction Cd for about £100. Not sure what delivery to Australia would be but they weigh about a kg.

You can mail him over on www.migweb.co.uk

This is an interesting thread

I visited him a few days ago in fact as I've just bought a locked box. He says he'll always keep one or two ready as he knows there will always be a trickle of demand.

Hi

I have been away from the site for a few months as my car has been away for the last 6 months. Do you have Brians mobile. I did have it but dont anymore. Its handy to have. I have done around 35k in locked box, and i not sure if its started to slip or not. i will check it when my car gets back. How much does Brian sell the locked boxes for now and if his current box does start to slip, can he fix for a different price?

Also do you know in having the VTS locked box, does it effect braking at all. I have 6 pot calipers on mine new Tarox discs and pads, but i dont think for some reason they bite as hard as they used to. Does having a locked box effect anything?

Cheers

Well the way I see it is this, Why would VX, bother designing a system (Seal/acc bulb/solenoid etc) to disengage the rwd when braking above 16 mph, if braking under fwd isnt safer/more stable.

Possibly. I am not sure. I think breaking def feels different, dont seem as much bite, but not sure if its related to a locked box?
