the LED strips on the door look good had them on mine and even small led's mounted through the door card in red

what makes it look tatty is when you see the wires going from a door to the car , rather than doing it correctly by removing the wiring connector and routing the wires through that...even when someone uses that trunking stuff

so how are the wires run then?

car is looking much better now though

Get the projector lights for the doors.I've installed
the vauxhall one's and I think they look great.
My mates and guys at work have all commented on them.

Cheers mate! had to improvise a method to get rid of that sticker haha
I think for the time being Im happy with my current setup of under door card LED strips giving lights to the ground! at some point in the future I might start thinking about trying the projector lights.

Thanks mate! well I had a look at attempting to run the wires through the door wiring housing pipe but It was very tightly fit in there.
So currently all I've done is very discretely run along the inside of the door and poked through a hole and feeded it under the door hinge arm and under the door seal and then under the side trim. With the door card hiding the cable coming out from the door you cant see the little bit of wiring running along the metal arm that connects door to car!

You can easily get the connector off the door and twist it enough to add a spare bit of wire into an unused bit of the connector (you would need to get a few from an old scrap car ) and then simply connect to them

or what I di was simply drill a hole in a unused section of the connector and run wire through there...fiddly but so much better looking and far neater

Fraz, it was a very hard spot to get into to feed the wire through and all, I might have taken the easy option out but I did my best to hide the wiring. and also kept in mind the ease of taking it all back to standard if I want to :P

Too much negativity on this site ! Especially when " someone's " calibra is one of the best in existence ! You would think that the work & effort that " someone " has put into their car would be respected & praised but no ! Shameful for supposedly fellow " enthusiasts " to act that way !

Sorry Samarai for hijacking your thread .
Your car looks brilliant by the way !

Though I think Samarai's Calibra is quite good I do not think it is as you call it "one of the best in existence" I can think of a few that I would put higher

But your allowed to have your opinion

I was actually referring to Craig's car - the same car you were having a dig at in the first place ! That car is one of the best left , the standard of workmanship on it by Craig is first class yet all he gets is digs & snide comments about it then gets dug up for not running cables the " correct " way . I heard rumours about some of the people on this club before I joined , now i see for myself that they're being proved to be correct !

and how in the name of the wee man did this get onto Craigs car ???? I was not having dig at anyone, simple pointing out it is neater to run wires through the main connector

I think at the end of it all, it is always easier to pass judgement rather than see eye eye. And that is exactly it.. We all have different tastes and that is what makes us all cars, individuals and personalities unique.

I always say each to our own. True we can offer our opinions but should be an offer not an expectation.

Anyways in terms of neat wiring.. All depends how much effort one is prepared to go through right? ;)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've gotta say I really love the transformed look. I had my fingers crossed that they wouldn't look cheap and they definitely aren't.
The black backing and clear lenses make the look for a much younger/more stanced car. And I love being different to most cars on the road so I like the new look.

Will need to install whiter bulbs in Fog Lights and also LED the side indicators (I believe you need a relay for this to work properly in the indicators). I've already put white LED Parkers but at some point down the track may look into installing HID's and CCFL rings. For the time being I can live with both! Im not looking for "OH MY GOD thats mind blasting!!!".. Im looking for "Wow thats nice" ;) and so far thats what I've been getting!

Thats all for now folks.
Stay tuned for progress as always!

I ended up disconnecting the small led that comes on with the halo rings, as I thought it was brighter than the rings and distracting from the halo's themselves

Mate...

Looking heaps better, but anything is better than the Original Out-dated Lights...

I suggest you buy some Osram whiter bulbs, to fit in the Headlights and Fog Lights...

I also suggest fitting LED's in the front and side indicators, and you'll need a special relay
for the indicators to flash at normal speed, but that's cheap and easy to do...

Forget installing HID's and CCFL rings, so many have has issues with that business...

I do think the inner side lights add some sparkle when you stand back, But I do want to try without them to see which look I like better!
