no brakes on front wheel
evening peeps,
iv finally started working on the loved ones car and have noticed the front drivers side brake is not working correctly. now it failed the MOT but have got all the parts required that need changing, but this has thrown me off so far? the other 3 work but just nothing in this fornt one. it just spins when brakes applied. any help greatfully appricated.

sounds like the caliper is either stuck on its sliders, strip down clean up and grease may cure it,
or some crap in the brake pipe blocking the flow? air bubble?
or the caliper is just generally nacked.

1st thing i would do is bleed it, then if no joy it will be a seized piston.
Good news is you can get calipers on trade discount from vauxhall, i got a set for mine £3 less each than a motor factor. Think they where just under £50 each.

check the brake flexi hose isnt internaly calapsed

but upon looking at the brakes this morning i have done a pressure test and discovered that there is no pressure on the front driver side through the ABS unit. iv opened the nut on the top and its dry. but the others all have fulid passing though at a nice rate. could it be possable that this unit is gone? are they repairable or is it easier to get another unit ? some on ebay cheapish but im also waiting on my old man as he knows a few scrap yards with a few vauxhalls in.

best get another pressure block tbh, is the ABS light not on?
