Bad small bump response
My V6 really feels small bumps on the front suspension..eg where there is a one inch channel across the road...
Is it just because the springs have sunk to the point they need replacing (half to three quarters of an inch clearance between
whell and arch) or should I be looking for a different cause?
There are no strange noises from the front end and it handles bigger bumps ok.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Bad small bump response
If the suspension is bottoming out then the shocks are gone.
Easy to chesk, do the bounce test. PUsh down hard on the wing, it should return and come to a stop without bouncing

Re: Bad small bump response
Is it lowered, coz stiffer springs would also feel the bumps more

Thanks for the replies.
No suspension is not lowered as far as I can tell...look like ordinary GM springs....
As regards the bounce test..it is really hard to push it down..if I lifit the body the shocks stop any bounce very quickly...but may be due to springs being dead?
Starting to feel worryingly like new shocks and springs.

Might be wishbones. Either the two mounting points or the ball joint knocking.

Re: Bad small bump response
siezed/siezing shock absorbers would be my guess if its only felt on smaller bumps
