Handbrake

Hi Guys,
On this topic, I wanted to change the hand brake pads but I gave up in the end, becasue after removing the brake caliper I had problems trying to remove the rear disc's from the hub, try as I may I couldn't get it off. Can someone tell me how to I suppose unstick the disc form the hub?

I use a rubber mallet

did you slacken the pads with the adjuster wheel

I hadn't tried either suggestion, so I'll try the rubber mallet see if it will cause it to budge. After slackening the hand brake pads using the adjuster wheel. (I thought if the hand brake isn't engaged it wouldn't make a difference, stand corrected).
