Hiya guys

My car is a 98 cali turbo.

I havent been on in a while as my car hasnt been running for a few months, now ive decided to have another go at it!

The car has no power going to the fuel pump and there is no spark, the garage has had it for 2 months but had no joy as they need a wireing diagram, so I now have the car back and was going to attemp fixing it myself.

I have found a bank of relays under the drivers footwell and there apears to be a relay missing! Good place to start with I guess :) can anyone tell me what the relay should be that goes there and if possible what the part number is? Its the one on the left thats missing as you can see.

Thanks in advance

would not worry too much about missing relays, they are a few that wont be fitted, some are for aircon, auto box and even a trailer

if your getting no spark have you changed the fuel pump relay??

sounds very much like the fpr agreed... when you put the ignition on do you get the ECU light on the dash show? im guesssing not..
hit the fuel pump relay (one of the ones by the ecu behind the drivers footwell kickpanel under the bonnet release.) smack it with a screwdriver handle till the ecu light shows on the dash it will then start.

just did a search, its a 96 and he's replaced the fuel pump relay. seems this is an old post/problem.

next step i would take is to follow the switched live from the master loom socket (big round) and check it is 12v+ as far along as you can find it.. first check at the master socket, also check the ECU 12v+ feed on the battery is connected properly. either one not on will give this fault.

where is the car Gav?

I will try and check those connectors that stupink said, thanyou

OPELTURBO do you have a wireing diagram for the LET?? I have been trying to find one for a while now!

I have replaced the fpr and have changed the crank sensor, the garage says its definatly an electrical issue but dont know where to look as they dont have a wireing diagram! I am trying to sell the car and am only getting offers of peanuts as its not running! It would brake my heart to let it go at the prices i have been offerd!

I am unsure about the EML as the car is dead as its been sat up for a long time now. I will place the battery on charge and get back to you on that one.

ok I have just dont the paperclip test and have a code 31 crankshaft sensor. However with me having the battery on charge overnight would the fault codes be lost and jsut the present one stored?? would this code 31 cause no spark and no power to the fuel pump?

its normal to see that code if the engines not running. so forget it.
yes it may have wiped the codes if you disconnected the battery or hate tried to start it lots and lots without sucessfull start.
