Fuel pump problems.

Hi people,
I have a problem with the wifes '91 8v.

It was left standing for a while and when i tried to start her she fired but died, it would appear that the fuel pump isn't working.

Is this a common thing after being left standing and the battery going flat?

Any help would be gratefuly recieved.

no not a common problem for the pump to die, but there is a common problem with the fuel pump relay.
you can identify if that is the cause because the ECU light shoudl come on when you first put the ignition on before trying to crank, if it doesnt, then its because of the relay.

Hi again,

The story so far.

The fuel pump relay has been replaced, no difference.

'FI' fuse checked, was fine.

Fuel pump works with 12v straight to it, still no fuel to engine.

PLEASE HELP!!

The ECU light is on until she cranks, will check what other lights are on.

what you mean by codes?

The terminals are a bit corroded, will either clean them or replace them later.

if there's no 'supply' to the pump when you crank the engine and the relay is ok I'd suspect the immobiliser
