if the light is on the ecu will be in safe mode which won't allow you to rev the engine thus protecting it, if the test showed the fault to be the crankshaft sensor have you not replaced it? did you do the test with the engine running?

havent had the money to get the crankshaft sensor, next week. engine was running but if the crankshaft sensor is faulty shouldnt that prevent the car from starting??

just got round to paperclip test again with car running, code 42 and 73 came up...
42 -a- vehicle speed sensor(vss)high voltage
42 -b- 1gear ident switch(c20let systems)high voltage
42 -c- est line coil cylinder 2+3(m2.8/xev system) high voltage
73 - air flow sensor (afs) low voltage

i presume one of these faults is causing ecu light to stay on and why my car is running like s**t!? what parts will i need to get to sort my baby out??
