hiya guys got a 2.5 V6 redtop motor im my corsa and still its coming up code 16 which ive been told its front knock sensor ive tryed changing knock sensor its self and even running 2 new feeds in from the ECU, and still after a bit of revs jumps back in to limp home mode and ecu light comes on. is there anyway of by passing these sensors so doesnt go in limp home mode? or anythong other ideas?

thanks guys.

Not being funny but the car is in a corsa are you sure you got the wiring loom right when you installed it and your not reading a fault on the front bank with the sensor connected to the back bank.. If you have a spare try the rear sensor. This also has a habit of being knocked when exhaust/alternator work is done and is a right pain in the *** when the limiter cuts in.

my v6 gave me the same code 16 a few months back. i too thought it was the front knock sensor but it turned out to be the rear one. right up near the alternator, had to virtually remove the alternator to get at it - you probably will too, you cant bypass them - the ecu uses them to determine how much advance it can run before knocking occurs, if the sensor is bad the ecu retards the ignition to prevent damage caus ing the engine to feel sluggish, especially up hills!

I have tried that. Got a little better, but that may just be me. I will replace the wiring to the bulkhead first. Then the sensor.
