Window Closure

by King Calibra » Thu Oct 27, 2005 6:41 pm

Do all calibras come with automatic window closure? I just got one of those total closure systems from Jimbohotpants and was wondering if it's even worth it.

Because I was informed after the purchase that it doesn't control the windows, just the sunroof!

I have no way of testin the key lock method, since my calibra's been de-locked.

If it's not standard on early calibras, is it possible to install it?

On models without remote keyless entry, where is the actuator for the window closure? My car has an alarm installed that controls the central locking, but not the windows. is there a way to change that?

ah... i get where you're going. when u had the door lock, did u ever try to hold it turned to close the windows? if you dont have the windows linked to the locking then u should get the central locking unit off one that does

Ive got a 'cobra' system on my car...And it only pulls the drivers window up...Doesnt do the passenger side...

its rather annoying actually, having to unlock the car, touch the little thingy on my keyring to the dash, and then turn the key...Especially when you turn the engine off, you have to re-do the whole thing!!! lock, unlock, wait for red light, touch the thingy with the other 'thing' then turn the key!!

Take your motor to a n auto elecrics place that installes alarms and I am sure they will be able to link your window closer to your central locking fob operation, All the wires are in the passenger foot well, just a case of joining the correct ones.

Brown Black wire add a negative feed to this wire it will close windows
can be found coming out of both front doors
It will not close sunroof as this is a seperate unit

I thought I made it very clear that it only does the sunroof mate! If you're not happy, send it back and I'll give a full refund.

Also, you need to have the microswitches fitted on both passenger and driver's locks! Dont ask me why these are needed, but the total closure doesnt work without them!

Mr Toad's right about the brown/black wire though, if these are in place.

Maybe just a misunderstanding.

Don't care tho. I WILL get the blasted thing to get my windows to close too I just wasn't sure if early reg calibras had the window closure at all.

Figured the best way to find out would be to pop a thread into the forum.

I'm not unhappy, just doing some research before I start chopping up wires.

So, as a test, if I were to ground that wire out to the chassis, it would close the windows?
